Africa's ICT destiny in your hands: EGovernment Forum

By Jack Kardolus
This serves to inform South Africans and Africa at large that I am a founding member of the eGovernment Forum, a not-for-profit organisation that was established in response to a recognition that the penetration of mobile and ICT industries in Africa has not produced the kind of outcomes that members feel Africa deserves in terms of human and institutional capacity development and consolidation.

The future of Africa is in our hands.

However, regrettably, many of Africa's professional and business persons have denied our governments the benefit of accessing our views and insights into how best Africa can integrate itself into the ICT highway in a manner that is mutually beneficial.

The eGovernment Forum is your voice if you believe, like Robert Kennedy, that: "Few will have the greatness to bend history: but each of us can work to change a small portion of the events, and in the total of all these acts will be written the history of this generation."

The eGovernment Forum took place last Wednesday, 12 October at the Rivonia Recreation Club on 7 Achter Road, Rivonia, from 6.30pm - to 8pm.
